We have been shooting Garrett’s photos since he was a little guy! It is so much fun as photographers to follow a child’s life in photos!
In this session, his mom wanted to document the things that he does and loves as a 5 year old. She collected and brought a few of his favorite things along for the shoot. Garrett was so excited to show us and tell us about each new thing!
First we met up at The Lab in Costa Mesa for some 5 year old portraits! Garrett had written his name on a piece of paper and carried a framed photo of himself as a baby. What a great idea for capturing his handwriting and the change in appearance in just 4 ½ short years!
Next we were able to start capturing his “loves and likes” at this time in his life. Legos, robots and Batman! The purple wall was a perfect backdrop for this part of the shoot.
We then went over to Teewinkle park to snap moments of him playing on the toys. His mom wanted to get a picture of a specific face that Garrett makes when he goes across the monkey bars. Can you find the face? This location was so fun and full of excitement. Garrett loved showing us his skills as he went across the bars, rings and climbed the slide.
We then found ourselves watching Garrett on his Razor scooter. He was a pro and taught us some tricks too!
Lastly, we kicked around the soccer ball. Garrett is now in soccer and his mom wanted to document him kicking a ball. He was really fun to hang out with, take photos of and play with! He was certainly in his element!
We love these kinds of portrait sessions! They are some of our favorite ones to photograph because of the uniqueness and different qualities each individual in the shoot brings- from personality to toys to clothing! We LOVE shooting children.
