Surf & Sand Resort Wedding – Laguna Beach Photographer – Jordyn & Mike

Jordyn and Mike were engaged on the beach at Pt. Dume in Malibu California so it was only fitting to tie the knot at the beach as well. These two had such an amazing wedding day and we felt privileged to document it for them. It started with getting ready at the Surf and Sand Resort in Laguna Beach, CA (we love shooting weddings here). The whole day was at the resort, which made everything move smoothly from one event to the next. Jordyn and her bridesmaids spent the morning being pampered and preparing for this big day. Jordyn’s hair was curled perfectly and fell down her back in wavy tendrils. Flawless Faces of Costa Mesa was here and they did a great job as usual, making the bride and her ladies look effortlessly gorgeous. Jordyn’s dress was beautiful and fit her like a glove. She looked stunning!

Jordyn and Mike chose to see each other for their first time with the “First Glance”. This is our favorite way for the bride and groom to first see each other. It is a really precious moment and we are always excited to be able to capture their raw emotions so they can relive them for many anniversaries to come. Mike waited anxiously for his bride and when he saw her, his expression was priceless. Needless to say, the day just kept on getting better. After some couples photos, we brought in the wedding party and their family. We could tell right away that this was going to be a lively group full of energy.

The ceremony was on the Surf & Sand’s Catalina Terrace overlooking the beach. The sky couldn’t have been more perfect with Catalina Island silhouetted in the distance surrounded by crisp, cool water. There was a generous glowing cloud cover, which gave us some awesome lighting to work with. Jordyn was escorted down the aisle on the arm of her father towards Mike, who looked sharp in his tux as he awaited her at the railing looking down over the ocean. It was simply ethereal and these two looked amazing as they exchanged their vows.

After the ceremony the party went into full swing starting with cocktail hour and rolling into the reception. The ballroom was decorated in purple and silver and the flowers were impeccable, Jenny B Floral Design always does stunning work. And can we just say…these guys know how to party! They danced, drank and celebrated the night away. Bryan Thrane with Pacific Entertainment provided music for the ceremony and the reception and he kept the party going. The dance floor was packed and people were leaving it all out there. When they needed to refuel, Simply Sweet Cakery had the right treat to satisfy everyone’s palate. Every plate was scraped clean!

We had such a great time being a part of Jordyn and Mike’s wedding day. It is one we will remember for a long time to come. Here’s to many more years of fun for the newly weds!
